Madeon

Madeon은 프랑스 출신의 Electronic Pop, Progressive House의 장르를 주로 다루는 아티스트입니다. Madeon하면 역시나 그의 어린 나이를 집고 넘어갈 수 없는데요. 그는 1994년 생으로 아직 한국 나이로는 미성년자입니다. 하지만, 나이와 상관없이 그의 Producing 실력은 전세계적으로 인정 받고 있습니다. Hugo Pierre Leclercq라는 본명의 Madeon은 11살부터 작곡을 시작하였다고 합니다. 2010년 Remix Competition에서 호주의 Electronica Band인 Pendulum의 The Island를 리믹스하여 Competition에서 우승을 한 후부터 Electronic Remix에 더욱더 많은 관심을 갖고 활동을 합니다. 그리고, 2011년 7월 Madeon을 전세계에 크게 알리는 기회가 된 것은 그가 Youtube에 올린 Clip인데요. 'Pop Culture'이라는 이름의 이 Clip은 Madeon이 직접 Launchpad를 이용하여 39곡의 Pop을 Live Mash-up하는 영상이였습니다. Youtube에서 재생횟수가 1년이 지난 지금 1200만 돌파라고 하니, 다들 그의 인기를 실감 하실 수 있겠죠? 그 이외에도 Remix와 자신의 Original 곡들로 더욱더 많은 인지도를 쌓아가고 있는 어린 아티스트입니다.

Hugo Pierre Leclercq, known by his stage name Madeon, is an electropop producer from Nantes, France. Leclercq was born May 30, 1994. He started composing music at the age of 11, and, after winning a competition in late 2010 by remixing "The Island" by Pendulum, he went on to remix other electronic artists' tracks the following year. What propelled him to international fame was a clip of him performing his mash-up "Pop Culture", which he uploaded to YouTube in July 2011, and featured thirty-nine sampled songs all run together on-the-fly using a Novation Launchpad. The clip quickly went viral and had reached over six million views in just a few days.
