Skrillex

Skrillex은 1988년생으로, Sonny John Moore이 본명인 그는 미국출신 젊은 Artist입니다. Producer이자 Guitarist, Singer, DJ 등 다양한 재능이 있는 그는 현재 Dubstep의 대표되는 Artist 중에 하나인데요. Skrillex는 Electronic Music Producer로서 활동하기 이전 2004년부터 2007년까지 Post-Hardcore/Metalcore Band 중에서도 인지도가 꽤나 높은 'From First to Last'라는 밴드에서 Lead Singer이자 Guitarist로서 활동을 합니다. 이 때문에, Skrillex의 트랙에서는 일렉키타를 연상시키는 사운드가 특징이고도 한데요. 2007년 밴드를 탈퇴 후, 솔로 활동을 하며 Electronic Music, 특히 Dubstep 세계에 발을 들여 놓게 됩니다. 디제이로서 수년간의 활동 끝에 2010년 Skrillex의 첫 EP 'My Name Is Skrillex'를 발매하면서 Skrillex라는 이름으로 본격적인 활동이 시작됩니다. 같은 해 'Scary Monster and Nice Spirits'를 발매하게 되는데, 이 트랙을 통해 Skrillex는 Dubstep이라는 장르에서 엄청난 인지도를 얻게 되고, 그 이후 발매되는 EP들 마다 큰 히트를 치며 2012년에는 Grammy Awards에서 3관의 영광을 얻는 Worldwide Artist로 자리매김하게 됩니다.

Sonny John Moore , better known by his stage name Skrillex, is an American electronic music producer and singer–songwriter. He joined the American post-hardcore band From First to Last as the lead singer in 2004, and recorded two studio albums with the band before leaving to pursue a solo career in 2007. After releasing the My Name is Skrillex EP, he released the Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites EP in late–2010. It have since become moderate commercial successes. Eventually he was nominated for a total of five Grammy Awards at the 54th Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist and won three: "Best Dance/Electronica Album," "Best Dance Recording," and "Best Remixed Recording.
